Hudson Headwaters 340B Speakers Selected for #340BConf

Hudson Headwaters 340B team members, Jim, Mike, and Barbara, are packing their bags for San Diego, California to attend the 2020 340B Winter Conference. As a regular attendee of the 340B Coalition conferences, our team enjoys engaging with covered entities both in the exhibit hall and as colleagues in the education sessions.

Per the 340B Winter Conference Website, “Conference sessions will provide attendees with the latest actionable intelligence in areas such as 340B implementation and operations, compliance, contract pharmacy, inventory management, and specialty pharmacy. Federal regulators will provide updates on audits and other oversight activities at the intersection of 340B, Medicare, and Medicaid. Health providers and other experts will share their innovative approaches to using 340B to pursue such goals as ending the HIV epidemic, achieving health care equity, and attaining system-wide patient health outcomes improvement.”

Our team has been selected for several speaking and panel opportunities throughout the three day conference, as outlined below, and will be ready to meet attendees in the exhibition hall at Booth 121.

Learn from our team at the following sessions:

  • James Donnelly, EVP of Pharmacy Services
    • 340B Essentials – Part 2(Pre-Conference Workshop)
      • Monday February 10th, 3:45pm-5:00pm | Indigo AE
      • During the second part of the workshop, participants will work through a set of interactive discussion questions to reinforce the information presented during Part 1 of the workshop. Stakeholders will discuss 340B challenges and compliance strategies.
    • CHC Expert Session #3 | Health Center Pharmacy Reimbursement: Threats, Trends, and Compliance |
      • Wednesday February 12, 11:00am – 12:15am |  Sapphire IM
      • Health centers are often challenged by their dual commitment to provide patients with access to affordable medication while maintaining their organizations’ financial capacity to provide comprehensive primary care services. This challenge is complicated by the absence of a clear and comprehensive set of do’s and don’ts, the complexities of complying with myriad laws, regulations, and guidance, and the ever-changing third-party reimbursement climate. This session will open with a summary of the current state of affairs regarding pharmacy reimbursement and then drill down into some of the more challenging areas, including compliant sliding fee discount programs, compliance and policy issues related to 340B discriminatory reimbursement practices, types of fee arrangements, and legal landmines not always immediately visible to health center leadership.
  • Barbara Zanoni, Business Analyst
    • 340B Lessons in the Field – Part 2
      • Tuesday February 11, 11:15am – 12:30pm | Room Aqua DEF
      • Covered entities use 340B vendors to support 340B compliance operations in different ways, and a variety of vendors in the 340B marketplace offer support services. This session is designed for covered entities to hear vendors’ perspectives and lessons learned from working with clients on 340B issues.
